About Me

hi there …

i’m lisa …

i’m a full-time mama and wife, a water baby, yarn-obsessed bookaholic, coffee addict, recipe tester and close-to-home adventurer. i am trying to figure out what i want to be when i grow up, meanwhile, I spend a lot of my time as a LGBTQ educator and advocate, writer and story-collector. the years are rolling by so quickly and  i am learning to take the time and make the effort to enjoy all of the moments of living life here at home in Hawai’i nei.

  1. I’m taking Amanda’s Write Now class and thought I’d hop on over to your space! I spent 3 years in Honolulu as a young child ( my dad was in the airforce). My first real memories of home are in Hawaii. I’m glad I found your blog!

    1. hi there! and thank you for visiting. have you had a chance to return to hawai’i? i find that this place has a way of lingering deep in people’s memory and impacting the formation of their idea of home.

i’m looking forward to the journey of Write Now with you and the rest of the creative ones that are involved with Amanda’s universe!

      1. I did get to go back, twice. Once in highschool and once when I was just out of college with my parents. And yes, it definitely lingers deep. I remembered the incredible Banyan trees by the zoo and roads we had driven on many times and Bellows beach where I was stung by a manowar. Hoping to one day return with my own family now.

It’s been a great course. I’m already looking at writing so differently.
        Much Aloha!

  2. Hi Lisa! I remember you from our sociology class at KCC back in the mid 90’s. I don’t know how I came across your blog, probably surfing the net too much, but I’m glad I did! You look great and your family is beautiful. Take care!

  3. hi, Brenda! thanks for stopping by! oh. my … the 90’s … its still hard to believe that we are decades past that era. which was a whole lot of fun! =)
i definitely got lucky in the family department … hope all is well with you and yours …
